In accordance with NEDA’s AmBisyon Natin 2040, the UP Diliman Extension Program in Pampanga (UPDEPP) and the UP Diliman Extension Program in Olongapo (UPDEPO) aim to contribute to Central Luzon’s socio-cultural, economic, and environmentally sustainable development. UPDEPP and UPDEPO shall engage in capacity building initiatives which highlight Central Luzon’s cultural heritage and promote resilience amid challenges brought by disasters, climate change, urbanization, and technological advancements. Extension projects that shall be implemented include but are not limited to the promotion of culture, health and wellness, environmental protection and preservation, empowerment of vulnerable sectors, economic progress, resilience of businesses, human rights and development, literacy and quality education, innovative governance, and measures to address historical distortions.

To increase its presence in the region, UPDEPP and UPDEPO shall expand their network by establishing new linkages particularly with local government units, national government agencies, higher education institutions, civil society organizations, local communities, and industries. Given that the area is home to indigenous peoples as well as local and foreign migrants, both units shall promote cultural inclusivity that is respectful of the diversity of peoples and communities. To support quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms shall be incorporated in the extension activities and projects.
