Student Regent Holds Summit in UP Clark

Last October 7, Student Regent Raoul Manuel conducted a student summit in the UP Clark Library.

The event, dubbed "Isang Pamantasan, Isang Laban" (One Campus, One Fight), featured discussions on the University's current situation, the history of the Office of the Student Regent, so-called neo-liberal attacks and the on-going peace negotiations between the national government and the communist bandit New People's Army.

There was also an open forum, where students were free to ask the Student Regent questions. Among the concerns were the struggle of UP Clark students trying to take summer classes at UP Diliman, the alleged refusal of some advisers to allow students to take units in advance, and the 'impractical' library and Internet fee.

After answering the student's queries, Manuel concluded the program by revealing plans for campus unification.
