UPDEPP has strengthened its work among the alumni and created awareness in them for their lifetime involvement in their alma mater. There is a strong trend in this unit towards intergenerational sense of responsibility in contributing to the growth and relevance of UP in the region.
Headed by Atty. Estelito Mendoza, who was responsible for the establishment of UP San Fernando when he was governor of the province, the UP Pampanga Alumni Association was born in 2000. It accepted and counted as members not only the graduates of UP San Fernando, UPDEPP and UP Clark Airbase but also graduates of other UP units who reside in Pampanga.
In 2012, another alumni association was organized, the Iskolar ng Bayan. This time, the membership was exclusive to graduates of UP Clark Airbase, UP San Fernando and UP Diliman Extension Program in Pampanga. As the bona fide products of UP Pampanga, the members of this group experienced the evolution of the unit from an extension program of Diliman housed in an old building within the Provincial Capitol compound to the provisional accommodation in a trade school, to the present warehouse-type structure. They were the alumni who went through the harrowing years of Mt. Pinatubo eruption right in the area where the destruction was harshest. This experience unified this group and inspired the members to rally around the building of a permanent UP home in the central area of Central Luzon.
